Moving Mastodon Servers

ceemageInteresting take-away from Kris Nova on Scott Hansel’s podcast about moving your account to another Mastodon instance – if you are someone with large (1000+) numbers of followers, and it’s important you get them all migrated (trying to avoid the “influencer” label here!), talk to the admin of the server you are moving to.

The reason being that there are various automated computer processes that your new server needs to kick off on your various followers’ servers to “preserve/move” the follow.
