Is Miss Marple, in effect, Agatha Christie's Mary-Sue?

I don't think so. Miss Marple was her writing-in of her grandmother and great-aunt (IIRC), whom she loved dearly, and who often said things like "Oh, I know that fellow's type, just by looking at him! Wouldn't trust him an inch!" It's in her autobiography.
