Poles Apart?

If it wasn't on the A40 main road, and hence regularly used as a reference point in the BBC travel updates, how many of us would even *know* there was a Polish War Memorial?

... driving in on the M40/A40 it's the obvious junction before the Target roundabout and thus lets me know when to leave the A40 to head down to the A312 and home to Feltham.

Because of this, I've stopped a couple of times at the War Memorial to look at it, and to stretch my legs after being stuck in a long traffic jam.

It can be quite moving, and while all is bustle around it, it's usually there by itself so can be a good place to decompress after road stress and to think of those who served (and those who died).

I've done a quick Google for a picture, and it does look very moving & tranquil.
